Credit Director - Personal Lines

The Hartford Insurance Company has the following opportunity for a Credit Director.
Job Duties:
As the Credit Director you will be The Hartford's key Personal Lines expert on the use of credit in underwriting and marketing. The responsibilities will require visiting state insurance departments and supporting our use of a custom insurance score. The support will require a thorough knowledge of modeling techniques, credit bureau files, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The incumbent will also be required to deal effectively with industry lobbyist, Government Affairs and to consult with business units on the use of credit in new projects. In addition, agreements in regards to certification of use must be maintained with vendors. Incumbent will assist with state approval on all new class plans filed for The Personal Lines Company.
Other responsibilities include: Monitoring of consumer disclosure process. Establishing internal safeguards on access to credit data Responding to escalated complaints from insurance departments, customers and agents Communication of credit use to Operations, Marketing, Underwriting and Agents. Debriefing Government Affairs on legislative issues. Presenting insurance models to insurance departments seeking approval. Tracking competitor information concerning use of credit Coaching other Hartford Business on using credit. Work with State Management on filings. Work with Research to understanding modeling and changes to our custom score.
Key Competencies: Established network in industry. Underwriting and marketing experience. Project management experience. Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships. Strong communication & networking skills. Mathematical and Legal aptitude. Strong project management and/or research skills. Ability to work independently. Strong Analytical Skills.
Qualifications: Three or more years related work experience in Personal Lines. One+ years experience in some or all aspects of project management. Traditional product development experience a plus. PLA system knowledge a plus. Ability to travel up to 25% is required.

Great American has an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Claims Manager. This position will manage the environmental claims staff (7-10) while maintaining proper personnel practices. You will assign claims files, direct file development and settlement negotiations. This position will also direct the development and disposition of lawsuits and maintain defense counsel and expert lists. Daily management of the office includes budget preparation, monitoring loss expense and expense accounts and approving reserves and settlements.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree and 10 years claims handling experience or 12 plus years without a degree. A minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience is needed. Participation in the CPCU program will be taken into consideration for future career advancement. Excellent communication skills and proven leadership skills a must. Strong organizational skills including time management are necessary. Strong attention to detail skills are needed.

Special Investigator

We currently have an opportunity for an S.I.U. Investigator I, in our Northern New Jersey Territory. This individual will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Special Investigation Unit investigators in an assigned region. Must insure adherence to the Unfair Claim Practice Laws and provide a quality work product.

Responsibilities:
* Works to accomplish the task of validating claims referred to him/her by the OCG claim department, by other OCG departments, or from other sources.
* Coordinates the efforts of all investigations with the cliam associate and hes/her supervisor involved in referring the claim to the SIU.
* Conducts investigations in a timely manner.
* Coordinates, when necessary, the investigation with local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agencies and NICB.
* Provides reports to OCG claim and underwriting departments; submits investigative reports to his/her supervisor on a timely basis.
* Cultivates referrals, maintaining regular contact with OCG claim and underwriting departments and with agents.
* Coordinates SIU fire investigation with local fire departments and origin and cause investigatiors hire to evaluate fire scenes.
* Performs surveillance duties, or outsources the work as needed. Coordinates and/or supervises the outsourced work.
* Develops, assembles, and preserves evidence required to prove or disprove the legitimacy of the claim and substantiate/support civil litigation.

Requirements:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent business/work experience.
* Minimum of two years, preferably four, of investigatory experience in law enforcement or claims.
* "Private Investigator License" where available.
* Excellent communication, organization, prioritization, and motivation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to research and analyze detailed tasks, problem solve, negotiate and evaluate.
* Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
* Respond to catastrophe sites for duty, and travel, as requested by the SIU Director.
* Actively pursue industry recognized professional designation courses.
