Team Leader - IT

The Hartford Insurance Group has an opportunity for a Team Leader in the Information Technology group of the Hartford Life Insurance Company.

Job Responsibilities: Responsible for managing a team of 3 business analysts and 2 developers that support our 457/403b record keeping system. The 457/403b record keeping system (DST) is a third party application that is maintained by CSC. The Primary duties include: Maintaining and evolving current interface application and processes. Leading current team of 5 developers/Business Analysts. Business analysis for support and determining needs. Project and Delivery management of changes required. Working with DST in setting work item priority.

Qualifications: Primary Skills: Strong Customer Service orientation and analytical abilities. Technical background in the development and support of Mainframe applications. Ability to adapt and work independently. Is flexible and readily adjusts to shifting priorities. Knows how to deal with people at all levels and works cooperatively with different. individuals. Can drive decisions and consensus, and resolve issues. Experience in business lines (i.e. Individual and/or Group Annuities) would be a strong plus. Production support background a strong plus. Key Competencies: Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work closely with a team to develop, build and challenge the capabilities of the group. Ability to work independently. Service-oriented or proven customer service attitude. Excellent problem-solving skills.

Manager-Information Technology

The Hartford Group has an opportunity for an Manager in the Commercial Automation Department.

Job Duties: The SCIC Support unit (which is new and not yet fully formed) will provide automation support for the Select Customer Insurance Centers (SCICs). The scope of the unit will include development & maintenance support for existing desktop systems, for telephony and computer/telephony integration (CTI), and for other systems needed to support future SCIC business needs. Candidate's first responsibilities will be to assist senior IT and SCIC staff to build the unit (i.e. to define and staff the IT teams that will make up the new unit). Candidate will then lead and manage the new unit.
Responsibilities will include assisting SCIC management to define strategic and tactical automation plans and ensuring that the IT support teams deliver high-quality automation solutions for SCIC business issues. Candidate will also be responsible for administrative management for the SCIC support unit (including annual planning & budgeting, personnel management, staffing, and expense management).

Qualifications: Demonstrated management, leadership, & team-building experience. Strong project planning & project management skills. Excellent (oral and written) communications skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of management. Organized, creative, flexible, self-directed & capable of making independent decisions. Job Duities: The Worker's Comp unit is one of seven units that support the maintenance and production support of the CLA (Commercial Lines Automation) system. Looking for a highly motivated individual to assume manager responsibilities for the Worker's Comp unit. Responsibilities include staffing, personnel management and work planning with a heavy emphasis on staff development. Also, must be able to work with our customers on a day-to-day basis to define new automation solutions as well as enhance the existing systems and processes. Systems Team Leader

The Hartford has an attractive opportunity in the Information Technology department.

Duties:This position will lead the HSD Presale Application Team, which supports the Risk Management Division of Hartford Specialty Company. The Presale application, SNAQS (Specialty National Accounts Quotation System), develops quotes for prospective insureds whose annual premium is not less than $600,000. Due to the size of these risks, the system helps underwriters create multiple sophisticated financial options for each insured. This position will work closely with customers to prepare project plans and estimates and with the Presale Team members on database and forms analysis and design. The Presale application runs in Oracle Forms 4.5 on an Oracle 7.3.4 database. Customers access the application via Citrix/Winframe running under Windows NT 3.5. Mission critical components of the application interact extensively with MS Word and Excel via OLE functionality. All aspects of the platform are scheduled to be upgraded this summer, including migrations to Oracle 8i and a newer version of the Oracle toolset.

Qualifications: This position requires an experienced IT professional with a proven track record as a leader in a team environment. Other important skills include a good working knowledge of PL/SQL, Oracle Forms 4.5 and the Oracle Developer 2000 tool set. Knowledge of OLE is helpful but not necessary.
