Individual will work as part of the individual reinsurance claim team,
and be primarily responsible for analyzing, reviewing and evaluating
contestable and incontestable individual life and waiver of premium claims
to ensure appropriate contractual reinsurance liabilities. Additional

The Individual Health Valuation Actuary reports to the head of the
Individual Health Division and is responsible for establishing both active
life and claim reserves that include statutory reserves, GAAP reserves and
tax reserves. The primary product lines being reinsured are long term care,
Medicare supplement and disability income. At least 7 years experience with
reserving techniques required. FSA required.

The Pricing Actuary, LTC & Disability Income is responsible for
structuring LTC & DI reinsurance arrangements that meet corporate
profitabiity guidelines. Responsible for profitability and pricing of
potential and existing LTC & DI insurance products written by the company;
its subsidiaries or clients, mainly in Medicare Supplement product line. At
least 5 years actuarial experience with expert grasp of the technical
aspects of actuarial theory. ASA required, FSA preferred. Experience in LTC
& DI insurance pricing and profit management required.

The Reinsurance Business Analysts/Consultants will participate in
development projects with clients,
documenting various reinsurance processes, assisting with conversion and
implementation projects, and consulting on complex reinsurance issues and
processes in support of the SICS/nt reinsurance administration software
package. They will provide high level technical, functional and management
consulting to meet the needs of the client; resolving difficult and complex
reinsurance process and systems implementation issues. May determine client
project requirements and estimate project scope and related costs.
Requires direct experience with Life or P&C reinsurance in the areas of
Claims, Underwriting,
and Accounting. Knowledge of workflow processing and seven to ten years of
related technical or functional experience is highly desirable.

Analyst
* Review, calculate and cede (bill and collect) all WCL reinsured death
claims.
* Work closely with other WCL departments as well as Protective's claims
staff.
* Follow up with reinsurers for collection purposes.
* Manage/maintain WCL death claim database on MS Access.
* Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
* Create, maintain and test new and existing business plans in Access
database.
* Assist in the reinsurance treaty (written contracts) and amendments
process.
* Handle assumed reinsurance accounting and claims.
* Process journal entries.
* Reconcile certain general ledger accounts.
* Assist in year end statement reporting.
* Creation and maintenance of Access databases, possibly Lotus Notes
databases also.
* Special projects as assigned by the Reinsurance Manager.
* Strong oral and written communication, math.
* Detail oriented, good organization, innovative and independent
thinker.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks.
* Willingness and ability to work overtime without being told in order
to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and strong skills in Excel and
Access.
* Knowledge of Lotus Notes also helpful.
* Mainframe experience, TSO, and JCL (job control language) helpful.
* Basic knowledge of life insurance and/or reinsurance concepts or
willingness to learn.
* Light programming or macro knowledge helpful.
* College degree preferred.
